Configuring a Garmin GPS 76

Step-by-step instructions for configuring a Garmin GPS 76.

To select GARMIN interface mode

  1. Press the Menu button on your GPS receiver.
  2. Press the Menu button again to display the Main Menu.
  3. Select Setup.
  4. Select the Interface tab.
  5. Select GARMIN as the Serial Data Format.

To set the datum to WGS 84

  1. Press the Menu button on your GPS receiver.
  2. Press the Menu button again to display the Main Menu.
  3. Select Setup.
  4. Select the Location tab.
  5. Select WGS 84 as the Map Datum.

To set the coordinate format to decimal degrees

  1. Press the Menu button on your GPS receiver.
  2. Press the Menu button again to display the Main Menu.
  3. Select Setup.
  4. Select the Location tab.
  5. Select hddd.ddddd as the Location Format.
