Configuring a Garmin eTrex GPS

Step-by-step instructions for configuring a Garmin eTrex-series GPS receiver.

To select GARMIN interface mode

1. Select the Main Menu page on your GPS receiver.
2. Select Setup.
3. Select Interface.
4. Select GARMIN as the Serial Data Format.

To set the datum to WGS 84

1. Select the Main Menu page on your GPS receiver.
2. Select Setup.
3. Select Units.
4. Select WGS 84 as the Map Datum.

To set the coordinate format to decimal degrees

1. Select the Main Menu page on your GPS receiver.
2. Select Setup.
3. Select Units.
4. Select hddd.ddddd as the Position Format.
