Layers

Layers are read-only data layers that you can toggle on and off to add commonly-used data to your maps. For example, you may create a GPX file containing the outline of your project area. You could add another layer consisting of contour lines in shapefile format from your GIS department or state agency. You might have road centerline data in DXF format from your engineering department.
