Drag the Move Map Tool to move the map to show nearby locations.
To select the Move Map Tool, do the following:
- View a map
- Then, do one of the following:
- On the , point to , and click .
- Press M.
- Click the
Move Map Tool button on the Map toolbar. - If the Zoom Tool is selected, hold the Ctrl key.
- If the Route Tool is selected, hold the Ctrl key.
- If the Track Tool is selected, hold the Ctrl key.
- If the Shape Tool is selected, hold the Ctrl key.
- The cursor will change to an open hand.

Dragging the map to a new location
To drag the map to a new location, do the following:
- Press and hold the mouse button anywhere on the map to "grab" it. The cursor will change to a "grabbing" hand.
- Drag the map to a new location.
Setting the Active Point
To set the Active Point, double-click on the map.
Quickly switching to the Zoom Tool
To switch to the Zoom Tool, hold down the Ctrl key.
Showing the Shortcut Menu
To show the Shortcut Menu, right-click on the map.
If an item is selected on the map, the Shortcut Menu for that item will be shown. If nothing is selected, the Map Shortcut Menu will be shown.
