Add Scanned Map Command

Before you can use your map image in ExpertGPS, it must be added to the Map Library and calibrated.

Adding a New Scanned Map (Image without Calibration File)

To add a new map to the Scanned Map Library, do the following:

The Open Scanned Map dialog will appear. Select Image (*.jpg;*.jpeg;*.tif;*.tiff;*.png;*.bmp) in the Files of Type list.
Open Scanned Map dialog menu

The Map Name dialog will appear. Enter a descriptive name for this map.

The map will be added to the Scanned Map Library. At this point, the map has not yet been calibrated, and the projection and datum used are set to default values (Equirectangular and WGS84).

Select the newly-added scanned map, and click Edit to specify the projection information located in the collar of your map in the Edit Scanned Map dialog.
